Elizabeth White Davis birth wanted approx 1841
« on: Saturday 09 March 19 16:55 GMT (UK) »
Hi all
I have been looking for the births of Elizabeth White Davis prob born 1841
Mary Davis b 1839
Joseph Davis b 1817?
I have records of Joseph from when he married Elizabeth Fleming in 1870 and I have her birth in Donegal in 1852
I have previously put topics on roots chats about Elizabeth and joseph and have most of the details of their lives after they were married, so I don't need any of those records .
I have returned to Joseph to try and find his birth and that of his sisters  to no avail.
My uncle first recorded them on a family tree back in 1976 and he was able to talk to older relatives who are now passed away. A lot of his info as to where people lived I have discovered was wrong ie: he had Elizabeth born in Burbank Glasgow which was wrong as I found her in Donegal.
I am hoping as Josephs sister has a middle name it may be easier to trace her but I have not had any luck. I have searched records across the UK,
so any pointers as to where I can look next I would be eternally grateful
thank you
Liz

You could start with posting a Link to the records of Joseph from when he married Elizabeth Fleming in 1870 which show he was Presbyterian, off Full Age, of Bridgend, son of Joseph (Labourer).

You have returned to Joseph to try and find his birth and that of his sisters so your starting point is Registers for Presbyterian Church in the area.

You have Joseph Davis b 1817?   who could be the Father of Joseph who married Elizabeth Fleming in 1870 and Father of the others too.

So you could look for the C Reg Death of  Joseph Davis b 1817?
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.

thank you everyone for the links and the marriage details. I originally found the marriage many years ago but only got a copy by emailing the actual church and a very kind vicar found it and sent me a copy of it. Later I have since found it on some sites online but it is nice to have the original copy of the certificate.
I do appreciate everyone's time and effort.
I found the valuation books very hard to read but they are obviously important as well. I can't quite make out where the joseph Davis on these is actually living but will continue to look.
I haven't gone through the Presbyterian records yet but that is my quest this afternoon.
 thank you again
