I don't know if this is of any significance but there is a marriage for an Edwin D Reid to a Noreen Ennis in 1990 in Lambeth.

May be a totally different Edwin

On 22 May 1959 Muriel Reid born 27 April 1940 with her infant son Edwin born 26 May 1958 travelled from Liverpool to Montreal Canada
Ship Empress of France.
Address 2 Lynton Court, Anerley Road, London.
BOTH are listed as Canadian citizens.

Since both his parents are Canadian in previous post his (Edwin sr.)1957 entry into the UK was with a Canadian Passport the infant Edwin was also given Canadian citizenship.

the occupation of Edwin REID who died Norfolk either 1994 or 1995, there seems to be some confusion about dates on the cremation register most likely 1995, was a seaman  as well as being a few years too young.

it seems unlikely that can be your man.  Although of course, stranger things have happened!
