William BLACKHAM, born 30/10/1842, Birmingham
« on: Monday 11 March 19 14:40 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

A straw in the wind enquiry.

I wonder if someone can confirm, or otherwise, that William BLACKHAM, son of Joseph BLACKHAM and his wife Elizabeth Kidd BLACKHAM (nee ROWLEY).....she was subsequently widowed and married William JACKSON in October 1855....... later became William Flavell BLACKHAM and married Jane WILLIAMS on 03/10/1880.   Probably not :'(

Thank you,

BAC3

Who does William Flavell Blackman give as his father when he marries?
Have you found W F B on censuses, - does his details agree with the other one?

Does one disappear from censuses when the other appears? Or is there any census they are both on - thus ruling out that they are the same person?

Hard to help till we know what you have already done.

How about getting the marriage to see if his father was Joseph - whatever occupation - to compare.

Here is William F Blackham with wife Jane on 1881, not long after the marriage.

Seems he was a lot younger than someone born 1842 in B'ham, and was born Sedgeley

Thank you for your help.

I think I accept the above is not William Flavell BLACKHAM, although seemingly a good candidate showing his father as Joseph.   However, there are innumerable other William BLACKHAMS in Warwickshire still to consider!!!

I see by 1861 his younger brother Alfred seems to have taken Jackson as surname. Maybe your William did too?
