'a' to left of name on 1919 Electoral register
« on: Tuesday 12 March 19 14:36 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone tell me what the a to the left of William's name means? This is the 1919 electoral register.

Many thanks

If you are lucky, Camberwell may hold a copy of the Absent Voter list, which will show the absentee's unit rank and serial number (well, the Chelsea one I saw did anyway).
Ancestry has some, but does not look to have Camberwell.

Brilliant I will look into this, would it be Camberwell Parish Records?

Thank you, do you search AVLs using the address they were registered as absent from?
