Clandam
« on: Thursday 14 March 19 21:32 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,
Has anyone ever heard of Clandam in Leicestershire?.
I am researching  Rev John Goodacre on 1851 census he was minster of East Drayton in Nottinghamshire and gives his birth as abt 1789 Clandam Leicestershire and I'm a bit puzzled as to where this is.
Any advise or help would be much appreciated

Thanks

Just going to post the same suggestion...

Long Clawson

It helps to look to the actual census, with the word Long there.

Thank you
Can't see him on 1861 census and his wife Ann is buried in Mountsorrel in 1852.
Have looked at my copy of Long Clawson PR and can't see a baptism for him there but there is a family of Goodacre's there in the timescale.

Many thanks for your help

The GRO has the death registration of -
John Goodacre, Sep Qtr 1857, East Retford Union, 7B 11 - age 70

The Nottinghamshire Guardian, 16 July 1857, has a report on the appointment of the Rev Longfield Davies to East Drayton Vicarage " .... on the death of the Rev John Goodacre ....".
