On-line family tree
« on: Saturday 16 March 19 16:39 GMT (UK) »
WOW, I've just been offered the chance to create an on-line family tree  :D

Slight problem - the surname they suggest I start with is NOT my birth surname, but my married surname  8)

I will NOT be taking up the offer  :-X
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Oh dear that's a shame. I initially got some good stuff off them but it all seems to have dried up now.

So what's the big deal?  Why should they know what surname you, or anyone else, is using?
Wiltshire:  Banks, Taylor
Somerset:  Duddridge, Richards, Barnard, Pillinger
Gloucestershire:  Barnard, Marsh, Crossman
Bristol:  Banks, Duddridge, Barnard
Down:  Ennis, McGee
Wicklow:  Chapman, Pepper
Wigtownshire:  Logan, Conning
Wisconsin:  Ennis, Chapman, Logan, Ware
Maine:  Ware, Mitchell, Tarr

The "big deal" is that this company are offering me the opportunity to create a totally fictitious family tree  :-X :-X

I'm not daft enough to proceed, but others may be  :-\

What a fascinating way to look at the world.  You could just as well say that they offered you an opportunity to create a totally honest tree.
