Naturalization paperwork

I am looking for naturalization papers for my Great Uncle.  On the census it says he was naturalized in 1912 im assuming in Alberta.  I have gotten my Grandfathers but he became naturalized in 1940 there abouts.  I can't find how to get 1912 naturalization papers.  Any help would be appreciated.
Johnston – Guelph
Deuchars – Scotland
Tierney – Ireland
Brubacher
Shevers – Scotland
Mitchell  - Fraser, Murray, Gauld, Metcalfe, Anderson,
Shand, Thain, Robson.

It appears from this link that naturalization papers prior to 1917 have been destroyed but there is also info about how to get what info is available from a card index.

Where did your ancestors originally come from? Prior to 1947, any British citizen did not become "naturalized" as they were already British subjects in Canada.
