Have you managed to locate these families in the approriate censuses? At the very least it may help clarify family members, years and places of birth, occupations, addresses etc.....

I was trying to get on to the surname profiler site (kept getting an error message) to double check my theory that Jane Beveridge may have been Scottish, and that is now confirmed by KGarrad posting the 1851 census.  :)

Hopefully other censuses may give a place of birth in Scotland so you have somewhere to start looking for her.

Looking at the births on groindex for the children named those I can find appear to have a mother's maiden name of Sim ( or in the case of Sabina, Sime).

There seems to be a marriage in Newcastle of a Thomas Little and Jane Sim 24 Nov 1834 which may be worth exploring further.

Following on from Ruskie's post, and that of K Garrad, the 1861 census seems to give Jane's place of birth as Perth.

William
Dent (Haltwhistle and Sacriston), Bell and Jetson (Haltwhistle), Postle, Ward, Longstaff, Purvis, Manners, Parnaby and Hardy (Co. Durham), Kennedy and McRobert (Banffshire), Reid(Bathgate), Watson (Wemyss), Graham (Libberton), Sandilands (Carmichael), Munro (Dingwall)

KG I hope you don't mind me pointing out that his place of birth in 1861 is given as Falstan, not Felton. Falstan is probably Falstone  :-\

JenB,  No I don't mind at all! ;D

In my defence, I am using FamilySearch which quotes Felton! :D ;)

In fact that would fit with his place of birth in the 1851, as there was a place in Falstone Parish called Crosshills
