EDITED - Our William Henry Machin (I) was the son of Charles Ephraim Machin and Amy Eliza Bennett.
See later posts to find he was an actor in Hollywood.

N.B. There was another William Henry Machin (II) born in the same quarter in Aston, Warwickshire. He was born on 5th February 1883.

William Henry Machin (II) married Annie Porter in Q June 1908 in King's Norton. Who was Annie? Who were her parents? Trees on Anc***** are not in agreement.
It appears from the 1939 register that Annie was born 19th July 1881. If correct, she wouldn't have been on the 1881 Census. Place of birth was Swan Village, Staffordshire.

Annie Machin, 29 and married, born in Swan Village, Staffordshire (although the Anc***** text says Swanton Morley!). She is assisting in the business - Public House managers.

The birthplace for William Henry Machin says Aston, Warwickshire. Hmmm.

Oh dear! Hold everything!
Now I am seeing that the W H Machin (II) in the 1939 register with birth date of 5th February 1883 is the son of Henry and Mary i.e. NOT our W H Machin (I).

I shall have to rethink this! Now I am wondering if our W H Machin ended up in the USA like his sister Amy Beryl Muriel Machin.
I don't have any other info about the 1908 marriage.
