Hi,

I'm doing family research and I'm stuck at E Martin.

Can anyone help please?

The only info I have is - Mother, Mary Herd.

E Martin born 1940's in Scotland and I am told he has already passed away.

Thanks :-).

I note the two births, which are the only ones in Scotland but I do not see a suitable death in Scotland or elsewhere in Great Britain?

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

What is the last record you have on this person presuming he has died ? .The marriage found by Wendy on Scotlandspeople gives names as Mary Herd and Eric Walter W Martin 1942 ...Can't see a death for a Eric Walter W Martin in Scotland ,but there is a possible death for a Eric Walter W Martin birth 9 /6/1923 died June 1981 Portsmouth Hampshire
There is also 2 males  BMD  in Hampshire with mother's maiden name Herd /Heard

Might be better to get a copy of the marriage to see what information is on it

One of the Eric Martins born in 1946 was a football player

Eric Martin (born 31 March 1946  Perth) is a Scottish former football goalkeeper,
who played 248 Football League games for Southampton between 1967 and 1975.
He also played both outdoor and indoors in the North American Soccer League for
the Washington Diplomats from 1975–1979.

One of the Eric Martins born in 1946
It could be two records of the same birth rather than two different Eric Martins.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
