Have you looked at the Bomb map
http://bombsight.org/#15/51.5050/-0.0900

No, but the 1949 Ordnance Survey shows a gap in the houses in Clarence Road between numbers 111 and 123

The death certificate will show the cause, almost certainly the result of a bombing raid, the Blitz began in September 1940.

I have a death cert (from Liverpool) for a lady who I know was killed in a bombing raid. The cause of death on the certificate is recorded  as "due to war operations" which, while true, isn't exactly informative.

In the "Certificate" column, where they usually have the name of a registrar, it says R H R Tee, Town Clerk

The London County Council Bomb Damage Map 1939-1945 for the Lower Clapton area has been put on flickr
On zooming, Clarence Road is on the extreme left, running up from the bottom of the map.
