Welcome to Rootschat

Was he Harry Francis born 1874 Wandsworth or Harry Francis J born 1894 Hendon.  Harry Francis b 1874 married Sarah Pavitt  and the Harry b 1894 married Catherine Smith/Davies

Over 60% of WW1 service records were burnt in the WW2 blitz but there is no Medal Roll Index for that surname with the service number you have given

I suggest this may be 20328 Pte Harry Fitch of 10 Battalion London Regiment.  He enlisted Feb 1915, discharged (sickness) Feb 1916.  His Silver War Badge number is 115689

Born 1865 Leyton Married Harriet Rawling, children Herbert and 8 others.

Is this him?

Hi there many apologies for the delay

The first part sounds about right, but he was married to Sarah Pavitt. Are there any other details to what the sickness would have been

So he is the Harry Francis Fitch born 1874.  Where did you get his service number from?  He married in 1897 aged 23 occ art metal worker.   Father was Henry Francis Fitch occ draughtsman

No MRI under the number you have given

Good evening

From my remedial searches I have done   I believe he enlisted to one of Two regiments
1 the London Regiment
2 The Sussex Regiment

I just presumed that as he lived in London he would have subscribed to the local Regiment, could be very wrong though
