The 7 Lancashire fusiliers man’s mother was Sarah Ann of 9 Windsor Street, Regent Road, Salford.

Added.  Record says apparent age 19.
He was discharged in August 1915.  Was that because he was underage?  (Para 392, 6a kings Regs)

Paragraph VI(a) was indeed a discharge "having made a mis-statement as to age on enlistment" - "a soldier under 17 years  at the date of application for discharge" (the army's application not his!).
He would in all probability been conscripted later but no obvious other service records appear.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

Thank you for the responses.   I have found another marriage certificate that states his age as 22... I will keep looking.

Thank you.  Susan
