iPad mini advice please?
« on: Saturday 23 March 19 02:54 GMT (UK) »
I have an iPad mini and would like to know if there is a USB cable that would allow me to copy all the photos and notes!  It's getting pretty overloaded at present, and I thought it might be better to store them on my PC.  - Any suggestions please??  ???

Thank You

You can buy a lightning to USB cable.
Iím not sure though if a PC would then be able to look at your mini.

Iím  taking it your PC is a PC not an Apple computer.  In which case you would  just use apple icloud.

See reply #3 below

I think the best thing to do would be to make a drop box account.  Upload the files  into the Dropbox and then download them onto your PC.

Iíll find the link and add it here in a moment.

https://www.dropbox.com/basic   2GB free space. Since the exercise is just to transfer to your PC if you fill it, just empty it and carry on

Thank you, that's what I have to do when I want to post a photo to Rootschat.  I email it to myself, pick it up on my PC, then change the name to a JPEG, so I can post it on RC!

And I'll try Noel Leeming as well!  Ta very much!  I have so many photos on my iPad that I need to get over on to my computer, as I'm running low on iCloud storage!  Once I get them on to my PC (not an Apple) I want to group them and put them onto CD's.

Thanks again for your tips. That'll be a good way to fill in the cold days!

Any notes you make in the Notes app stay in the app, but do back up to icloud.

I would suggest making screen shots for the notes you wish to keep and they can then be transferred along with the photos.

Just adding in case you are unsure on how to do a screen shot:
press and hold together the power button and home button until you see the screen flash. You will then find the screenshot in photos.

Email the notes to yourself? I believe you can buy extra icloud storage for a minimal cost.

Just hook the ipad to the computer via a usb using the ipad charger lead.    Import your photos.

The usb cable you need is the ipad charger cable.
