Joseph Bell’s military record gives Elsie Jane’s birth as 8th January 1906 so looks as though you are on the right track.

so looks as though you are on the right track.

I think that is established earlier when NG said they have all Elsie’s details (but maybe not the right birthdate and death  .
I saw a tree yesterday which showed Alice’s death abt 1928, I think.

I think we were trying to find any of the family staying with the Cheshire relatives in 1939 but now it seems they were not.

Firstly, i have a date of death which equates to my grandfather being born in 1889.

If you do not have a death certificate, how sure are you that this is him?
Age on death relies on the knowledge of the informant. You would need the certificate to check that.
