John Hearn, (1841) Northam, Devon, England.
« on: Monday 25 March 19 12:35 GMT (UK) »
Looking for any info after 1871.  John Hearn 26/05/1841 was his baptism, born Northam to John and Elizabeth.  He is on the 1851 and 1861 in Northam, and as a ships carpenter in 1871 in Clifton, Sommerset yet I can find no records after that point.  I cannot find a death either.  On the 1861 Census, he is a shipwright.  So maybe he travelled further afield.  Any help appreciated.

He is in Gloucester 1871 not Somerset

Couple of possible deaths in the right age range between 1871 and 1881 - have you already ruled them out?

June 1873 aged 34 Walsall - no match in the 1871
March 1874 aged 34 Newton Abbot

Thanks Carol, my error in typing was thinking Clifton was in Somerset, thinking of the bridge as you drive under it, and of course it is not Somerset!!!!  Im blaming this horrid flu I have.  Have gone with the Newton Abbot, Devon Death, it fits age wise, and in the right area, for his occupation.  Thanks for the help.  Going back over old research, checking it before I go to Devon to research, and I keep finding things I could not find last time, and still finding hard!

I wouldn’t go with the 1873 death as the 1871 has a John Hearn aged 31 b Teignmouth living in the Newton Abbot RD with wife Selina

He is not found in 1881 but there is an 1876 marriage in Newton Abbot for Selina Hearn

Why?  He was born Teignmouth - not Northam and was in Devon in 1871 whereas your John was in Gloucester

Thank you Jon.  Going to check if that works in.  Hopefully before the census.

Carole, was just going to check to eliminate.  Also, at times, it gives me a lead.  A lot are connected in Devon.
