Looking for death of John PERNELL, born 1855 UK

Hi, just wanting to clarify a point in the opening post. John was said to be the son of Christopher and Harriet nee' Walton. The gro birth ref gives his mmn as BAKER. There is a marriage of a Christopher Purnel and Harriet Baker in march q 1846 Lichfield 17 87, or was Harriet previously married?

Thanks for the question. I haven't seen the GRO birth reference you refer to. I haven't been able to find John's birth on FreeBMD.

The source for his mother's maiden name was John PERNELL's 1885 New Zealand marriage certificate, where it states, 'The groom's parents were Christopher PERNELL, a labourer, and Harriet Pernell née WALTON.'

I haven't researched his parents as yet.

Hi Spades, John's birth appears on Freebmd, sept q West Bromwich (Warwickshire) 6b 562. Family appear on 1851 census (without John of course). They also appear on 1871 census with John being aged 16, born Spon Lane Warwickshire. It seems he is the second John born to Christopher and Harriet the first being born mar q 1847 in Lichfield but sadly dying later in the same year. Father was born in Weston Super Mare, Somerset. Parents and brother Joseph (1865) on 1881 census with surname Pernall
