Do you have a grave number?  What was her name and when did she die?

I don't know if this applies in this particular area but in my area (North Tyneside) the burial records are also held at the local studies department in the library.

Can you check the info you have given as it is misleading

There is no death in 1940 on freebmd for an Ethel Allen in Derbyshire which is how your post reads as you refer to her husband as John Allen - no surname given for either Ethel or John.  Thankfully you mentioned her fathers name.

She was born Ethel Sophia Bishop in 1886 in Notts

Ethel Sophia Bishop married in Notts in 1905 to George Edward Shelton.

Ethel remarried 1917 to John A Palmer and they can both be found on the1939 register

Ethel S PALMER died 1940

No death in 1965 in Derbyshire for John A Palmer (who was born 1891)

He died 5.7.1967 in Nottinghamshire hospital as per probate entry
