Do you have the parents names for James and Mary or their birth dates?
Where did you find their marriage?

I am a bit confused with this request.  You have a witness Henry Venis on another marriage and you are trying to link him to children of James Crouch & Mary Venis, their surname would be Crouch not Venis.

Hello
I see your problem.
The only children for James and Mary Crouch i can see concern their burials
Catherine Crouch 10.6.1824 d of James and Mary at Rye and James 18 Sep 1825
Considering the dates not likely to them.

Mary Venis is the daughter of Isaac and Mary Venis
Baptisms
Mary Hadlow 29 Nov 1756
Mary 27 May 1747 and Mary 13 April 1740 at Guestling
They have a son Henry Pelham Venis 8.7.1759.
The others are Henry 19.9.1736,Sarah 24.5.1741,Nanny 20.3.1742 ,Nanny 22.5.1743
,Sarah 17.5.1761,Hannah 5.6.1763 ,Isaac 8.3.1765.

So it looks like two famlies of Isaac and Mary both with children Henry and Mary Venis

I do think you are onto the right family.

Hi
Had a look at Appledore and Mary's marriage and there is a Jane Crouch born 1770 also marrying there to a William Wimble
It looks like they could be sisters
Jane 27 Aug 1769 d of William and Elizabeth Crouch Sussex
Mary bapt 18 Jan 1767 d of William and Elizabeth Crouch Sussex

William 194.1764.
Elizabeth 21.4.1765
Frances 2 Oct 1771
Rose 15 Dec 1776-16.1.1778

Irritatingly it doesn't say where in Sussex
Possible marriage at Saleshurst to Elizabeth Tellison 1763.

It's possible that William and James Crouch were brother ,sons of William and Mary baptised at Brightlingsea  Sussex  31 Dec 1749 and William 10 May 1741.
