Thanks for the explanation. I just couldn’t see, at the time, a reliable connection between 1901 and 1911.

You need the 1866 civil marriage certificate for Walter and Margaret.

Hi Heywood, What I was looking for was confirmation that William & Ann were Walter's parents.  I know all about Walter & Margaret and their children Anastasia, Mary, William, John, Annie & Johanna.  I have DNA confirmation that Walter & Margaret are my great grandparents.  I am trying to go further back than William & Ann and find what happened to Walter's siblings.
Cheers, Loz

Still not sure what exactly you have but ... presuming William and Ann are the parents.

Griffiths Valuation for Duncormick Parish shows a William Lambert in Scar.

From that information-  1901 census for Scarr has a James Lambert 63 yrs born abt 1838 - could he be James, brother to Walter?

Son Paul -birth mmn Walsh

Marriage James Lambert -father Wm -deceased but the age of James is quite a bit out

As you say,you need to confirm that Walter is the son of that William and Ann though.
