Another baptism same place and in the right time frame but don't know who the parents were just a transcription

Christopher John Mety Musgrove

4 Dec 1871

could he be the mystery one?

Am assuming here from the story that the baby in question survived?

Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Is the child in question Matthew?  If I have the right birth for him in Hartlepool he was born Sep 1/4  1872 so Frances wouldn't have been expecting him in July 1871.

I was thinking the child was matthew but after reading further posts about clara that seems suspisious.

Was Frances the daughter of Matthew and Emma Musgrove? If so I note that in the 1871 census in the Musgrove household there is a 6 month old granddaughter called Clara - in the 1881 census Clara is showing as the daughter of Matthew and Emma.

In the groindex entry for the birth of Clara no mother's name is recorded- might she be the child in question ( although again the dates do not completely fit) ?

William

Oh yes thats her parents matthew and Emma.

Yes Clara looks more likely than Matthew but agree again the dates don't fit as if she did belong to Frances she was born before July 1871.

Could we confirm the date of the marriage for Frances again please?

Clara Ann Musgrove was born Dec 1/4 1870 Hartlepool

Hi there i just bought the marriage cert and it says married 2nd July 1871 stranton
It says frances was 17 and Robert 24 Frances father tailor and Robert Labourer.

Her age dosent add up though, if she was 17 then would be born around 1854 but I found her on the 1851 census with birth date of 1849. Why would she put the incorrect date on her marriage certificate and mae herself younger?

Perhaps a 1849 Frances died after 1851 and a second child, born 1854, was named Frances too?

Oh wow thankyou, that has solved a mystery.
Very confusing giving them both the same name.
