So many thanks for sharing so much information, loads for me to be going on with. Hanrahan was also a name I came up with for Alice.

Mary Bridget is a new name that I've not stumbled upon yet, thank you again. Looks like I need to be questioning my aunt and my father if ever he gets on line...  I think my aunt aquired my grandmother's photo albums when she died so they may be worth checking.

The information for Patrick could be right as there doesn't appear to be any information on him in the subsequent census records I found in 1901 and 1911 where Alice is mentioned. Yarmouth is odd unless it relates mainly to his service in the Army.

This was the man himself. ... MP Gillespie

Many thanks for the extra information, looks like MP had two sisters who we weren't aware of. We knew of the half sister, Dirinha, as she married a Naval Officer and her eldest son has MP Gillespie's medals.

😀😀😀

Just to add - I've found out that MP Gillespie's medals are with a grandson from his 2nd marriage (whilst he was still married to his 1st wife) and that side of the family knew nothing about the first...

They look to be in remarkable condition considering their age...
