Sailing ship 'The Malcolm' out of Liverpool
« on: Thursday 04 April 19 10:25 BST (UK) »
In the diary entry from a relative in 1843 it describes a Sailing ship called. 'The Malcolm' arriving in Liverpool.
On the 1st May it left with the 'ensign' flying and on 22nd June again left Liverpool for Port Adelaide.
Does anyone know anything about this ship ?
Best wishes
Paul

just a thought - I couldn't find The Malcom - but I did find the David Malcom - do you think the "Malcom " was a shortened version of its proper name ?

after extensive search it looks to me like The Malcom was indeed the David Malcom - can't find any record of The Malcom   maybe SEAWEED will post to confirm that or he may find The Malcom ??
 :)
enjoyed that little research though ...

Thanks for taking the trouble to do the research. It does seem plausible that it is the David Malcolm. The diary was kept by a sailors 'future wife' so its reliability re: dates is open to question.
Best wishes

what was the relatives name ??  I am sure there is a "Convicts List " if she is not on that she was obviously a passenger
