I run a topic on Facebook and it is not doing well.  How do I remove the topic?

Click on the three dots at the top right of the topic. This will give you.a drop down menu with an option to delete the thread. Alternatively you can select «Turn off commenting». This will close the thread and it will drop further down the page out of sight as new threads are started.

As far as I know I have never joined Facebook, does anyone know if Facebook was in connection with Genes Reunited which I did belong to years ago

Louisa Maud, Facebook and Genes Reunited are completely separate entities.
