it's not one that shows up in the parish registers available online, so could be one of the parishes not covered, non-conformist or register office. The certificate will give you her father's name & occupation, but not her mother's name.

That's one of the census that the Henry Williams members have.

Marriage details are interesting. Sarah could have been Sarah Griffiths not Williams  😱   Spanner in the works me thinks!  Coincidence is that Sarah Williams sister, Jane ( my grandmother) married a Griffiths, my mmn.

Hopefully this marriage certificate will not only give me Sarah's father and occ. but also Llewelyn's father and occ. I know Henry was a boatman on the Glamorgan canal.

Just for interest there are another four Sarah Wiliams born about 1843-1945 born Eglwysilan/ Cardiff.   I have seen the archives for my Sarah's baptism so I know it to be correct as born 1845.  Eglwysilan.

Thanks for the info  will keep for ref just in case.

P.S. St Dogmael's looked Beautiful last weekend in the sunshine, also Wed. and Thurs after it snowed. Offer still stands for photos 🙂

There aren't many Llewellyn Morleys about, so this family from the 1851 looks a good bet

Ynis, Llantwitfardre HO1072456 folio 495 pg 5
William Morley head mar 46 farmer of 79 acres employing 2 labourers b. Llangatwg
Catherine wife 44 b. Llanwynno
Ishmael son 20 coal miner b. Llantrissant
Hannah dau 18
David son 15 employed on the farm
Lewellin son 13 employed on the farm
Catherine dau 11
William son 7
Barbra dau 4
Thomas John 19 farmer's servant b. St Maryhill
William John 30 farmer's servant b. Peterston super Ely
children born Llantwitfardre apart from Ishmael

If so, likely marriage 12 June 1830 in Llanwonno for William of Llantrissant to Catherine Davies of Llanwonno.

Thank you, but sorry already have this my shoebox. Still appreciated though.

Having found 23 people on Ancestry, with trees connected to either the Morleys or Willams nobody has to my mind really researched the possible connection between the families. Have the feeling many have copied each other's  taking the info as gospel.

Cannot wait for the certificate to arrive now as I have dithered between the two possible Sarah's without any firm decision. The sticking point for me has always been that Sarah Morley has given her birthplace as Taffs Well which is a few miles away from Nantgarw, where the other Sarah was born. Stranger things have happened.

     Thanks again 🙂
