Caroline E. Frandsen born circa 1855 Denmark
« on: Saturday 06 April 19 07:57 BST (UK) »
Father possibly Wilhelm Frandsen and mother possibly Louisa Johannes.  Left Vivild for Hamburg in 1873.  Trying to find her baptism/birth registration.

Here is a link to the browsable parish registers for Vivild. Happy hunting.

Hi

I had a look for you but to no avail. What does the "E" stand for?
Where did she emigrate to?
How do you know she left for Hamburg?
Also, are you unsure of her parents' names?

Ian

Left Hamburg on 11 April 1873, (and last town or where from showed Vivild). She was 18 yrs old. But it does look like Fundsen on the passenger list - so that was a real good find.  The ship then went to London and left there on 18th April 1873 for New Zealand; arrived on 14th July 1873. Ship was called Halcione. The ship from Hamburg was called Libra. Her name was shown as Caroline E. Frandsen on the Halcione.

Her name is definitely Caroline on the passenger list and the E probably for Emilie ?

The link above does not include births for 1855.

She said her father was William (Anglicized no doubt) and mother Louisa.  I have found a Vilhelm Thuesen in the 1855 census, but he is single.  (Just thought Thuesen sounded liked Fransen).

Here is a passenger list from Family Search. It definately says Frandsen:

Which passenger list do you have?

Yes, definitely on the Halcione, but on the Libra from Hamburg. Will scan a copy here.

It's just written badly on the Libra.  If you can see on the scan it looks like "Fundsen".
Did the scan come through with passenger list for Libra showing Caroline E. Fundsen (should be Frandsen)
