Africa records trying to trace my German family tree
« on: Sunday 07 April 19 16:01 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to trace my German family tree in my fatherís side.  My parents divorced when I was 3, so not a lot to go on.

His name was Mel Weimann and I believe he was born in South Africa to German parents.  My mother, Valerie Ann Higgs, was born in 3 May1937 and they were of a similar age so somewhere around that date plus or minus 10 years.

They married in Northern Rhodesia in the late1950s, probably Ndola.  He lived in Lusaka most of his life after their divorce as far as I know and he remarried also in Ndola I think and had 4 children, I think 2 boys, 2 girls.

I canít seem to find anything about him.

Can you help?

Regards
Susan Scott (Steinberg, Weimann)
