You have to find the correct film to look through by searching the catalogue (in this case under Probate Records for Archdeaconry of Lewes) and then scrolling through the images.  There isn't any index to help but the Keep catalogue sometimes helps to see what wills are near it.

Are we to understand that Thomas senior married three times?
Burial transcripts from Folkington -
19 September 1699, Eleanor Bartholomew, wife of Thomas
12 July 1705, Elizabeth Bartholomew, wife of Thomas
28 Feb 1747, Ann Bartholomew
(another Ann Bartholomew buried 30 Dec 1726)

other burials there include one in the same week as wife number two
6 July 1705, Elizabeth Bartholomew, daughter of Thomas + Eleanor

There is a will of Anne Bartholomew, widow of Folkington, proved in 1747

Hi

Thank you for link to Anne's Will.  I have 8 potential children for Thomas but until seeing Thomas's Will only had two wives but it would now seem that there were three.  This Bart line is interesting as I am sure that Eric Morecambe (real name John Bartholomew) is the descendant of one of them as his family came from Friston/East Dean area and were living there in late 1700s.  Unfortunately, we only know his family moved to Lancashire in the 1800s not my Thomas Kent in the 1700s!

This is so helpful and I now think I'm beginning to get my head and fingertips around FamilySearch.  That said, I tried looking for a Will for Eglantyne Catt of 1593 without any success.  So a little progress but I must try harder...
