I see there is also an Eric Carr born in 1913 Biggleswade, Bedfordshire which is fairly near Watford. What do you think of that one?

He died aged 1, Dec qtr 1914 Biggleswade.

Robert James Carr, 36, was a widower when he married Mary Kilshaw, 24 (a spinster) on 25 Feb 1917 at St Stephen’s, Edge Hill.  Both of Elm Grove.

Robert was a plumber.

His father: John Carr, plumber.
Her father: Isaac Kilshaw, cabdriver.

Witnesses: John Carr, Martha Cleworth?

Yes as far as I know they were Watford based after marriage.
I don't have paid access to 1939 register so can't check that.

It is possible to do a free search on FindMyPast which can sometimes be helpful.  You can 'paly' with the day/month/year to establish date of births

AVM 228 thank you for all your help. You have been very helpful. My friend says he supported Liverpool and the death date seems to match so that looks like him for sure. Much appreciated

That's good.  I think you will find his parents Robert James Carr and Mary, and some of his siblings, in Liverpool in the 1939 Register - but his own entry may be one of those redacted.  The Register was only kept regularly updated until the early 1990s, though some redactions are now being opened up as a result of family historians submitting proof of death for those born less than 100 years ago.

See FreeBMD for Carr births with mmn Kilshaw - it looks as though he was one of at least 8 children.
