Christopher COLLINGRIDGE bapt c1735 Middle Claydon
« on: Monday 08 April 19 15:41 BST (UK) »
Some while back I was given information about Christopher COLLINGRIDGE being the son of Stephen COLLINGBRIDGE which I wasn't able to verify at the time. Later I found the baptism in Middle Claydon to Stephen but his wife's maiden name was given, not her married name. From memory her name was Hellen COCK. The marriage took place in South Oxfordshire close to the county boundary. I was able to find Hellen's family in North Oxon but nothing about Stephen. Unfortunately courtesy of a move, I don't have access to my notes.

Does anyone any information on the baptisms in Middle Claydon around 1735 please?

If you have an LDS FHC near you, they have digital images of the time frame you are looking for (only viewable at FHCs, not at home unless you are a church member) both BTs and PRs

Our is currently closed for a couple of weeks, but if no one else can help I'll put this on my list to look next time I go.

Thank you for your kind offer. There's supposed to be a centre about 20 miles away but I think it actually closed several years ago. I'll let you know if I can access it myself.

I'm well enough, thanks Boo. Trust all is good with you.

Okay I'll stick it on the list for week after next and unless you say otherwise will have a look-see.

I was at the FHC this morning and looked through the baptisms (both the PR and the BT) for Middle Claydon. Unfortunately I can't see this baptism in either register for the period 1730-1740.

When you have access to your notes let me know if you have any further info and I'll have another go.

Boo

Many thanks for looking. Much appreciated. It'll be a while before I'll be able to find my notes. I'll let you know when I do. Thanks again for taking the time out from your own research
