Hi Karytay,

Statutory Registration for births , deaths and marriages began in Scotland in 1855 . So from 1855-1860 all deaths should be registered and the records are on Scotlands People website - this is the official Scottish Government website with the official and original registrations.

Pre-1855  - Deaths may have been recorded on the local Parish Registers. Not all deaths were recorded - some parish officers/clerks were more officious than others - relatives of deceased were not obliged to give Church the details to record.
In addition to above, not all Parish records have survived.  However Scotlands People holds the records of all the surviving OPR's (Old Parish Registers) from all over Scotland.
This website is your best bet - searches can be carried out for free - but if you wish to view the original record (which you will probably need to do for further info and to establish if you are looking at correct person) , you will need to purchase credits.

Looby :)

Have a look at the information and links on this page to find out if the registers contain any entries for the period you are interested in:

https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/research/guides/old-parish-registers/list-of-old-parish-registers

Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any entries for deaths/burials in the registers of Saddell & Skipness.  Mort cloth rolls might assist, but I'm not aware of them being online.

Post 1855, all deaths will be covered by the Statutory registers.
