Help needed to find the whereabouts of some Mcneills

Have a David Smyth Mcneill of full age marrying a minor Mary Meehan in 1865 in Liverpool.It appears they go over to Ireland and have a son James Joseph christened in Belfast.On the 1871 Mary appears with James born Belfast down as a hairdresser , born Antrim married and living in Salford -no David.In 1873 Mary has a son Isaac Holden no father named on birth certificate.1881 Mary shown as widowed is with James and Isaac,so from that date have no trace of Mary,Isaac or any records of David.
Can anybody  please help me further.
James Joseph goes on to marry Agnes Hough and has seven children been able to follow this family except for another Isaac born 1895 he marries an Edith Lockitt.I have them up to the 1939 and then can't find anything else.

So do you believe he stayed in the Tranmere area until he died ?...have you checked Rake Lane Cemetery records ?

Baptism for son James Joseph indicates father David McNeill was Presbyterian (posted on Antrim thread).
