Many thanks Rosie.
Yes, Janie Rae was the niece of August, but she is closer to home, as her father, August's brother, was my biological g grandfather, Hermann who ran the Queens Hotel in Helensburgh.
So all information on Janie (including lair number etc) would be of great interest

So many thanks once again

Iain

HI Rosie,

Jane Rae Schnake (d:1902) on whose grave you located her uncle's gravestone(?) died at 3, Hanover Street in Helensburgh.
Sadly the house could not be located a few years ago.

Maybe this is of little interest but if a history/life & times of olde Helensburgh is being consturcted,  it might.

Hanover street runs down the side of the old Queens hotel which her father was proprietor.

Best wishes,

Iain
