Alfred Henry Flood Harfield
« on: Friday 12 April 19 06:37 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any information on this interesting character. Born in 1851 son of Isabella Phillips and John Jenkins Purse Harfield. Baptism at St Marys Portsea. His father was a fisherman and died young. Alfred was sent to Wandsworth prison for 1 month for stealing in 1866 then sent to Philanthropic School in Redhill (reform school). We believe that he ended up in the Army.?
Any assistance greatly appreciated. Thank You David

Alfred Henry Harfield 37 born Portsmouth coachman domestic servant

In later census years he is listed as Henry Harfield and I think their marriage is:-
21 Jun 1874 St. Philip's, Sheffield
Henry Harfield  Age 22 - Father John Harfield - Fisherman
Clara Taylor  Age 21 - Father William Taylor

Kay

Added Henry's address is Barracks and he is occupation in  ??  R A - presumably Royal Artillery
