Help with my dads photo clark

I think the first word is Khakis.

And down the bottom is North. Something starting with C

My try at the photo.
And with the back of the card I tried to separate detail from damage... but I still don't know what it says. Bear in mind that I may have made a number of mistakes - painting over what should have been detail or leaving what should have been painted out - but perhaps it will help someone to work it out.

thank you peter great work i kept trying to read the back but getting nowhere this is why i am lost to who it is he his not my dad but i am gratefull for any help kind regards dave
