BT at House of Lords
« on: Saturday 13 April 19 14:40 BST (UK) »
Searching for a marriage in 1640 and found this in the transcription notes:

……..wid. of Richard yeoman, BT at House of Lords.

Does this mean Bishop's Transcript kept at the House of Lords?

The marriage took place in Snave, Kent.

I would think that BT would be his job description. Something like Ballot Taker, maybe.

I had not thought of that; thought that yeoman was his job. :-\

Very odd, NJ

Quote
He shown as jnr.s.of Thomas gent.wid.of Richard yeoman, BT at House of Lords

It seems to suggests that her new husband (Thomas Brett, aged 19) was a yeoman too.

I think it means that Thomas Brett was the son of Thomas and she might be the widow of Richard King, yeoman.

I can't think of anything other than Bishops Transcripts

Did you get the marriage to Richard in 1634?

It has a note on that too!

BT at House of Lords - could it mean Baronet?  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
