Leeds Free Church Council Rescue Home
« on: Saturday 13 April 19 16:05 BST (UK) »
I'm revisiting my great Aunt Elsie Simon's life, going back through her medical records it shows she was admitted to Leeds Free Church Council Rescue Home, Brunswick House, 3 Wesley Street, Leeds after being found lodging in dangerous conditions. From what I can find it was a home for friendless and fallen women. Does anyone have any further information on this place?

She was admitted on 8th February 1917 before being moved to Fairfield Training School in Leeds in April 1917, then Farmfield Training Institute in February 1918, Surrey, then Darenth Training Colony Kent in March 1921, before ending up in Rampton 1927.

My suggestion would be to contact WYAS in Leeds, to see whether they can throw any light on the Rescue Home.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
