Help with some words on Marriage Record

The attached snip is from a Scottish marriage registration in 1909.  It is the column for the brides father and mothers details.    I read it as ".... Amelia Carkeet formerly ?? afterwards married to Richard Stratton, Coalminer. Dec"      The ? words look like "powerloom weaver" which would make sense, but why is her occupation appearing at all ?    It's usually only the males occupation, and the womans maiden surname.

Yes she was.   Amelia's daughter was born in 1891 but is recorded as an illegitimate birth.   My research suggests Amelia brought up her daughter by her own means.

Weaver as in occupation 

Yes.   Other records show her occupation as millworker

Perhaps she was proud of her occupation before she married Mr S.

Andrew, I think this was a standard entry where groom/bride was illegitimate. Mother's details would be recorded this way. In this case (always so helpful) the record of her marriage afterwards.
