John Slavin 1814 - Ireland Catherine Flynn 1821 - Ireland

Hi I was wondering if anyone is able to help at all?  I am researching my ancestry and my 3 x great grand parents are from Ireland I'm unsure which part, they are John Slavin and Catherine Flynn.  They had three children (I think), my great great grandfather was their middle child Charles who was born in 1834 and baptised at St James Dublin. I contacted the church who were lovely but had no further information.  On the 1841 census they lived in Tynemouth on the coast of North East England and Catherine is now Slavin they have 3 boys John 10 Charles 6 and James 3.
Are there still Slavin's in Dublin or is anyone able to point me in the right direction to find out any further information.  I know that both names are quite common in Ireland.

Thank you for your prompt replies.  The marriage one could that be someone else as it makes Catherine 8 years old at the time of marriage.  I did come across that one on Ancestry from a tip from someone elses family tree.  What would be the legal age to marry?
