Wondering if St Johns Norway cemetery would be the right one, they have an e-mail link.
Some of the cemeteries and libraries in Canada are very good at answering genealogy questions without charging and you have a name, death date and burial date.
RK will correct me if this is not the correct cemetery but I can't see another listed.

Just wondered if he might give an address or whether he was going to his father  :-\

I see Colin returns to Canada with his wife gertrude on the Duchess of Bedford 5 April 1929 -  St Johns New Brunswick. C/O Hudson Bay Co. Winnipeg Manitoba.

UK Returns in April 1909 with his mother and siblings.  Also 14 November 1924 and 28 November 1931

Wm J Hopewell (machinist)  arrived 31 July 1903 Montreal Quebec on the Parisian.

Interesting that Colins wife was called Gertrude.  He did go out to see his father apparently.  The first time to find him and the second time just to see him presumably.  I am convinced that he never divorced Ethel.

Quite possibly, he never did marry again.  Any clues as to the name of the second child ? Would be great if we could find William in 1911.

Hi Sandra,

This is the correct cemetery.

I looked up the actual obit for William..in the Toronto Star, 5 July 1941, page 28

It says William James Hopewell died at St. Michael's Hospital on July 4, 1941.  Husband of Annie Hopewell and father of Mrs S Field.  Late of 423 Broadview Avenue, in his 69th year. Interment St Johns Cemetery Norway.

Yes, I saw that one. Nothing on Annie Reid Hopewell ?  Maybe Thelma Gertrude Field could have remarried after Stanley passed so more difficult to trace.  ???
