Haven't been able to find Annie.  I also wondered if Thelma Gertrude may have remarried.  I am not seeing anything for her either.

1945 Toronto city directory has Annie Hopewell (widow of William), laundry worker...living at the Riverdale Isolation Hospital on Withrow Ave.

This means she must have had some sort of contagious disease at this time.   No - looks like she works and lives there.  See below.

1947 - at the Riverdale Isolation Hospital.  Is a laundry worker.  It says she works at the hospital.  Looks like she lives there as well.

1950 - same

1951 - same

This is the last time Annie Hopewell appears in the Toronto City Directories

It is possible...or she may have moved to another city, or perhaps remarried??

The cemetery may be able to tell you if she is buried with William.  If they can give you Annie's date of death or date of burial, I can check the papers for an obit using the date.   A name search doesn't turn up anything. (That doesn't mean there isn't an obit for her).  A date search would be worth a try.

Runkitty is too fast.... I just finished running through the directories! (This is what I get for not refreshing the page to see new posts!)
Posting them anyways, maybe the addresses will come in handy.

1912  no entry for them

1913  Hopewell, Wm tmstr h 17 Seaton

1914 Hopewell, James W.  driver Medland Bros Ltd 1 17 Seaton
                          Wm. tmstr h 17 Seaton

1918 Hopewell, Wm driver h 211 De Grassi

1926 Hopewell Annie O ironer Isolation Hosp lvs 127 River
Hopewell William slsmn Oakvale Dairy h 127 River

1927 Hopewell William slsmn Oakvale Dairy h 127 River

1928 Hopewell Annie O ironer Isolation Hosp lvs 127 River
Hopewell William slsmn Oakvale Dairy h 127 River

1930 Hopewell Annie laundry wkr Riverdale Isolation Hosp h 31 Devon Rd
Hopewell William  slsmn Can Bread h 31 Devon Rd

1940 Hopewell, Wm J slsmn Smith Cleaners h 200 Chatham Ave

1941 Hopewell Annie O Mrs ironer Riverdale Isolation Hosp 4 423 Broadway

1942 Hopewell Annie Mrs laundry worker Riverdale Isolation Hospital r 423 Broadway

1944 Hopewell Annie O Mrs lndry wkr Riverdale Isolation Hosp h 423 Broadway

1948 Hopewell Annie O (wid Wm) laundry wkr Riverdale Isolation Hosp r 217 Withrow Ave

1950 Hopewell Annie O (wid Wm) laundry wkr Riverdale Isolation Hosp r 217 Withrow Ave

1951 and on: no sign

It looks like William changed employers a lot, and Annie held the steady job.

I haven't seen them living at West Lynn, the address where Gertrude Thelma lived when she got married at age 16  ???  I can't read the house number on her marriage; it is either 20 or 21.  In both 1927 and 1928 the house owners are:
20 West Lynn - Fredk C Talbot
21 West Lynn - Ricardo Hill

She seems to be a bit young to be renting a house, so not sure how that address fits in?  Maybe a Reid relative rents there, and she is staying with them?

I have today heard from the cemetery. They have added my request to their list but only do requests once a month, so we wait to see!
