Search of cremation records at Glyntaff Crematorium
« on: Sunday 14 April 19 14:18 BST (UK) »
Hello - I would be so grateful if anyone can help me find out if the following lady was cremated at Glyntaff Crematorium - this has been a 17 year search to try and reunite her son with her.  I know the date of death and the date it was registered but can find no trace of her after that.  The church and graveyard where her son had been 'visiting her' for fifty years has no record of her burial, we have therefore concluded that she must have been cremated and scattered. .......

Name: Ethel Jane Young
Date of Death: 04 07 1936
Date Death was Registered: 06 070 1936
Place of Death: Royal Infirmary, UD
Address: 2 Holly Terrace, North Street, Abergavenny, UD

Any help would be so appreciated - thank you.

The staff at Glyntaff are brilliant, and will give you the information if they have it, but if she died in Abergavenny is there any reason why she would have been cremated - or buried - in Glyntaff (they are 30 miles apart, though it was the only crematorium in Wales at the time).

Have you looked for a death notice in the local newspaper?

Hello rosie99 - thank you for your reply and no I haven't as I have literally found out about the crematorium yesterday, hence it was my intention to do that this week.  I also only found out about this site today ...... thank you again - fingers and toes crossed!
