On my iPad mini I have no trouble accessing my Facebook page and to scroll back through items that appeared earlier; currently I can see items posted up to 2 hours earlier (this has altered I used to be able to go back beyond 2 hours). 
However on my laptop I can now see current items and that is all. If I look at "old" items via "notifications" then when I try to get back to my home page I get a "Welcome to Facebook" with advice to start adding friends etc.

I know the site has had problems recently but this is both annoying and confusing!

Any advice?   In plain English please as I do not understand computers/technology.   ::)

That is what is happening on my MAC.
 I reported it but no proper reply or fix.

Does it help if you log out and then in again?

I have exactly the same problem, except that its worse on my Android tablet than it is on my laptop.

I've tried logging out and then back in, cleared cookies and reported it as well.

At least it's not just me or something I have done.

Treading carefully but...…..all seems to be back to normal (whatever passes for normal on Facebook!) this morning.
