Further to ht's information today at 7.52 I have checked newspapers and found :
Glasgow Daily Herald 7.2.1866 p.8 col.7 shipping advert for City of Foochow, Master Wm.Connell, for Calcutta 28.2.1866.
This fits in well with the record on his "Application to be examined" of engagements on the City of Foochow (48912) from 27.2.1866 to 5.7.1866 and then to the Euterpe (47617) from 17.7.1866 to 29.11.1866.

I hope you agree ?
Many thanks for your assistance and guidance.

Nice finds. I think that ties the thread up nicely.
