Thanks again to all who have assisted. It certainly helps to hear someone saying it - thanks for the link hallmark. 

Long story, but the reason for my query is that this is a forename of a relative of someone my daughter knows and I want to know the correct way to say his name. Having said that, the person is Australian, so may pronounce it differently. I am still interested in the “usual” Irish pronunciation though.
