Daniel J F Bailey

My late cousin David Bailey his parents were Daniel J F Bailey and Florence Edith Hambling. The only info I have of my uncle is from the marriage registry. My auntie Florence I‘m sure she was living in Plymouth. Can anyone help with my uncle; he was always called Uncle Fred.  I never got to know my auntie as she died before I was born. I remember my late mum telling me she and my dad brought up David because uncle Fred could not cope. I know uncle in the 60’s and 70’s was living in London. He had another partner she was known as Auntie Edith, but I don’t think they married.

Florence was born 1906, according to 1939 Register.
David with her, but no sign of Daniel.

Agree, you need the marriage certificate.

Something seems awry - no death for anyone with this name/initials under either surname spelling.

You only say Florence died before you were born and we don't have a clue when that was 

There is a death for a Florence E Bailey in 1945 - Exeter reg district which is a 'fit' for a 1906 birth

I wonder if he completely 'dropped' the Daniel.  There is a John (Frederick) born around the same time as Florence that could fit in Plymouth 1939   
Still really need the marriage though

That is the Florence Edith Bailey. My auntie I have visited her grave in Seaton. We always called him uncle Fred.
