Elswick bp record for 1895
« on: Wednesday 17 April 19 22:54 BST (UK) »
FindMyPast and Family Search have a transcription of a bp in Elswick in 1895 for Jessie Feeth (FindMyPast) and Freeth (FS). It says mother's name is Mirow or Miron which looks like a mistranscription for Marion, perhaps, or at least something with 'an' on the end. I presume a scan of the original will be in Tyne & Wear Archives but are there any on-line options that can be accessed remotely?

Thanks, Flemming.

Edit: other than at Family Search sites.

Look up the birth on freebmd then use GRO online to check for mothers maiden name.  Match that maiden name to the marriage

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp

Births December qtr 1895
Freeth -  Jessie Johnstone - Newcastle on Tyne  10b   12

EDIT

That only works if there was a marriage - she was illegitimate
   ???

EDIT

Died Dec qtr 1895

Yes, and Elswick always makes me think of the home for unmarried mothers, if it was open at that time.

Thinking about possible translations of Miron there are no likely 1891 candidates in Northumberland.

There is a 16yr old Marion Freeth born and living in Birmingham

No Miriam's
