I've got 2 deaths in 1924 - a mother and her baby. The mother and the rest of the family are all living in Gorton Manchester and all the previous children are registered with Gorton births - so they are probably born at home except for this child.
These 2 when I looked them up on Lancashire BDM it comes up as Didsbury which seemed to be a long way from Gorton, in particular in 1924 and Didsbury was much more rural. I had a look on the National Archives and found Withington Workhouse and Hospital which seems to be West Didsbury.
I am wondering now if she she went there to give birth and if they would have had a lying in hospital?
If so would Withington Workhouse and Hospital deaths be classed as being registered in Disbury.
I did find on the Manchester burial records where they are buried in Gorton where numerous other family members are interred but sadly they are in a mass grave with 17 others.
