Dating two portraits 18-19th century? William Hughes of Pen Y Clawdd.
« on: Friday 19 April 19 22:47 BST (UK) »
Dear all,

Trying to date these two portraits.

first one is the man without sideburns - how early could this be? I am wondering if it was a man who born 1742 died 1784. My instinct is it is a bit later by way of hair etc.

Second one man with sideburns. Think this has been identified as a gentleman who lived between 1760 and 1840?

They are both Welsh.

Thanks A

The two men are related prob father and son but just trying to identify them.
