I always like to start on a small section of the images that I colour first, just to test how they are for colourisation.

I would love to have a better go at this, but whilst everyones results are very impressive, I think if it's possible to scan at a bigger resolution, you could achieve much more realistic results.

If you do manage to scan at a higher resolution I'm not sure if  you could either PM me, or if it's allowed to post a dropbox/google drive type link to it
I would love to have a go at colouring it fully.

Even now I have had to reduce the size and crop part of the image to allow it to be uploaded
Is there a thread in here wear I can display some of my previous work/attempts?

any way here's a small section of it

best

simon

Simon, if you want the original to be scanned at a higher resolution, then you need to ask

the originator, i.e. SandySandy on this post or by P.M. The reason that the file size is

limited to below 500kb is because of the limited storage space on RootsChat. They also try

to limit the pixel size to about 600 pixels because a lot of people can't see the finished picture

without scrolling backwards and forwards and up and down. Although on this board they don't

make a strict rule on it. They allow the original picture to be large in this respect because it

makes it easier for us to work on and of course we can make out more detail with a high

    resolution scan.

Thank you, I have mentioned it in my post, maybe I didn’t say it clear enough. I’ll send them a PM in the morning. Still working my way around the site

Best wishes

Simon
